Enjoy fishing at a beautiful 40 acre lake located in the city of Rancho Cordova, just a quick 30 minute drive from downtown Sacramento.
Fish seven days a week from sunrise to sunset in a lake stocked with large mouth bass, catfish (catch and release), bluegill and crappie. Use your kayak or electric powered boat or fish from shore.
Never crowded and plenty of room to spread out, the season runs February 1, 2021 to March 1 2022, but you are welcome to join anytime during the season. Closed four months mid winter for duck and goose season.
Due to lack of rainfall the lake is low. We are currently monitoring the situation and hope to be able to open to new and returning members this coming season. We will begin selling new memberships February 1 provided we get enough rain between now and then. Current members may begin fishing February 1 and renew their memberships March 1. We will update the website as the situation changes. The Waegell Family greatly appreciates its members and we are hopeful the lake fills up enough to welcome returning and new members for the 2021-2022 season.
Please note our rates have changed this year and also we need to require everyone to sign a release from liability agreement and return that along with your payment and membership form.
Welcome new and returning members. Memberships are priced at $125 for a single, $155 for a married couple, and $175 for a family with 3 children under 16 years of age (additional children or grandchildren are $10 each.) Click on the link below to view our membership and release form.

Henri Waegell and Margaret Tiessen Waegell first started ranching in 1919. They raised cattle, turkeys, pigs, Kadota figs and other crops. In 1950 they acquired Blodgett Lake from the Blodgett Family. The Waegell Bros. opened the lake up to members for fishing in 1951. Dove, goose and duck hunting is also offered on the 2700 acre ranch. A third generation farming operation, Tiessen and Waegell Ranch raises sheep, seed crops and hay.
